Public hearing on the petition of the Oklahoma Oilseed Commission

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PETITION OF THE OKLAHOMA OILSEED COMMISSION

The Oklahoma Oilseed Commission filed a petition with the Commissioner of Agriculture on February 8, 2017 for approval to become a successor organization authorized to replace the existing Oklahoma Oilseed Commission and become a quasi-governmental/private entity pursuant to the Oklahoma Agricultural Commodity Act, 2 O.S. §§ 5-60.10 et seq.

A public hearing is scheduled for March 30, 2017, 1:00 PM, at the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry Boardroom for the purpose of receiving testimony on the petition. If, on thebasis of testimony, the Commissioner determines that the petitioning organization is representative of the producers of oilseed in Oklahoma and that the petition conforms to thepurposes and provisions of the Oklahoma Agricultural Commodity Act, the Commissioner shall approve the new Oklahoma Oilseed Commission as a successor organization authorized to accept the statutory assessment found at 2 O.S. § 18-275 of the Oklahoma Oilseed Resources Act.
